Google to reduce known copyright infringers ranking in searches

Sites which have had multiple copyright notices taken against them will have a diminished presence in searches with a new Google algorithm update. It is important to point out that it mentions that they won’t be removed from searches without a valid reason or notice as Google cannot determine what is and isn’t copyright infringement, but it will reduce the rankings of known infringers allowing legitimate websites such as Hulu to show up more in related searches. As some people have noted, Youtube will not be affected as they treat their copyright claims slightly differently to outside websites.
